About Kvittla

Paper receipts always need something you don’t have on you: a printer that works, a pen in your pocket, and a clear idea of what actually needs to go on the page. Kvittla skips all of that — two phones, two signatures, and a proper receipt done before you’ve said goodbye.

Kvittla is built for the most common case: you meet up, pay with Venmo, Zelle or cash, both parties sign on their own phones, and both get exactly the same PDF. Done in about two minutes.

• A PDF receipt with the essentials of the sale: date, item, price, and both parties’ names.
• Both parties’ drawn signatures with time, IP address and browser recorded as an audit trail.
• A SHA-256 hash of the document and an independent RFC 3161 timestamp — so it can be shown later that the PDF hasn’t been changed since it was signed.
• The original listing image as an attachment (if you uploaded one) — useful evidence of what was sold and the advertised price.
• An identical PDF for both parties — not two versions.

Kvittla uses a simple electronic signature: under the U.S. ESIGN Act and UETA, a signature may not be denied legal effect solely because it is electronic, and courts weigh the evidence on the facts. The audit trail (signatures, timestamp, hash, any attached listing) exists to strengthen that evidence without adding any friction for either of you. Kvittla is not legal advice, and for transfers with their own official paperwork — like vehicle title transfers at the DMV — a Kvittla receipt supplements that process, it doesn’t replace it.
